ANGELA EDELMAN – OWNER
Angela’s vision to become a successful business owner started as a young child, as she watched her father own and operate a small business. Seeing the success and failures of her father, she knew that she could help businesses succeed if they had the right tools. Her father was a mechanic. And while he was great mechanic, he was not an accountant; but his businesses needed a great one to succeed.
As a young mother herself, she did not waiver from her steadfast plan. She graduated from Rasmussen College with a Legal Secretary Degree; an Associate Degree in Business Management followed by a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
During these years, she faced many obstacles but eventually found herself moving from Central Minnesota to Lake Itasca where she married Wesley Edelman. Together they have raised their son, Jordan and continued to watch their dreams become reality. Angela and Wes have opened multiple businesses in the Bagley and Bemidji area, including a diesel repair shop which her husband operates, a sales business, and a property management company. Despite Wes’s objections, she also has a hobby farm where her father helps maintain the animals and day to day operations.
While working directly with her husband across these business ventures, Angela’s concept for Smash Tax grew. A strong community-based business where you can be confident you are getting honest, reliable answers from her team.
Angela continues to grow her expanding Smash Tax business, starting out with tax preparation and now offering full bookkeeping services, payroll, and other accounting needs.
If Angela’s not behind her computer screen, you may find her enjoying a stroll in her sports car, traveling to new sites, at the local coffee shop drive-thru, riding Harley with her husband and dad, or enjoying a quiet evening at her farmstead with her extended family.
Through the years of life lessons one thing has not wavered in Angela’s sights, helping other small businesses succeed. Angela continues to share her ideas and stories with other small business owners to help them create and maintain a plan for success.
